About Artist and Renderings

The Dicey Langston Project Committee selected artist Nick Ring through an RFP process to curate and memorialize Dicey Langston with a bronze statue on Main Street in Travelers Rest, SC.

The following renderings were used in the RFP process and are currently being refined for final compositions to be provided for bronze foundry in Spring of 2021.

To this day elementary and middle school students study Dicey Langston and many take a field trip to the location of her former homestead in Travelers Rest. We will incorporate educational components into the statue and surrounding location to engage students with an interactive site.
